Spotlyt is a peer-to-peer competition platform built around real-time Beat Battles.
Producers connect in live video chatrooms, showcase their beats head-to-head, and every beat gets heard, reviewed, and scored by fellow participating producers.
The best scoring beat takes the crown — and its creator takes home the cash prize.
Producers create a Spotlyt Account and upload their best beats to their Beat Catalogue. Producers then pay their entry fee, and gain access to the lobby of the Beat Battle.
Producers will then be prompted to select a beat from their Beat Catalogue to submit for the Beat Battle. The Beat Battle then begins, and by random selection — each producer will have their turn showcasing a 30-second snippet of their beat submission, broadcasted in real-time, to all other participating producers.
Once all beats have been showcased, producers are then prompted to submit scoring for one another — following our specialised scoring criteria. Lastly, the final scores are automatically tallied and the producer with the highest score is crowned winner — earning access to instantly cash-out the prize pool.
Spotlyt is free to register, however:
- Entry fees: Each Beat Battle requires an entry fee. A portion goes towards the prize pool (PCA), while the remainder supports Spotlyt’s operations.
- Commission fees: A small commission is applied to winnings.
- Future plans: Subscription options to be made available for discounted entries and optional customisation features will be added later down the line.
There are 4 scoring criteria each beat will be subjected to:
- Mix Quality
- Creativity
- Arrangement
- Sound Selection
(Each of these scoring metrics will be scored between 1-10) Maximum score total is out of 40. Producers cannot score their own beats.
Yes, producers can participate in Beat Battles with friends via an invite link that you can share to any other producers you may know or if they don’t produce - non-users can also join as spectators. Spectators do not need to register and cannot join the real-time video chatroom.

If two or more producers tie in scoring, a Secondary Round is held. Tied producers select another beat from their Beat Catalogue and submit it for another showcasing round. All other participating producers then score the newly submitted beats, and a winner is chosen based on those results.

Short answer, no. Responsible answer, still no - but with extra steps. Before launch, it was vital for us to ensure we are not only compliant with the law, but also that we built a fully transparent platform. As we are a UK registered Limited Company, we have sought out legal opinions and carried out our due diligence. We have our Compliance Documents readily available to read in our Terms & Conditions - that further detail the in’s and out’s of our business’ description.
